Using a combination of the 1" round chipboard and the 2" square chipboard shapes, I laid out a design on a Ikea mirror, selected a Graphics 45 paper from the Fashionista collection, adhered the paper to the chipboard using Claudine Hellmuth Matte Medium, sanded the perimeter, added a bit of extra color to the edges using Tim Holtz Pumice Stone Distress Ink Pad and then adhered the shapes to the mirror using the matte medium.
I then added some red grosgrain ribbon to hang it with.

Zutter Chipboard Covers~ This company, Zutter, makes the Bind-It-All machine to bind books with coils.  This is an exceptional product- yes I have one- and if you have been on the fence about it, I highly recommend it.  Its ease of use, compact size, and general functions make it a winner.  You can use this with their machine or you can use it alone.  You get 2 acid free covers measuring 6" x 6".  Zutter also makes another product called DreamKuts for cutting papers and I like it very much also.
$1.49

Zutter Chipboard Covers, 4.1" x 4.1"~ This size has 2 pieces of chipboard in it.

canvasartrdcovruse.jpg

Canvas 4" x 4" Art Board by Zutter~This comes in a package of 2 boards that measure 4" x 4".  The picture does not show the 4x4 just an idea of one way to use the art boards.  It is a heavy chipboard or bookboard that has a white canvas covering on the front of the board.  The sides are the kraft chipboard color.  You can paint it to match if white is what you want.  You can use this item to make book coverings, add to scrapbooks, display on wall or for other home decor to mention a few.  Pkg of 2 boards.
$1.29

Chipboard Squares-1"x1"~You can call them 1" squares or you can call them "inchies" (very popular right now). These are heavy duty chipboard squares in natural kraft color.  These are wonderful for mounting, collage, backing and book making.  You can paint them, cover them with paper, stamp on them- you are only limited by your imagination.  They are apporx. 1/16" thickness.  I have used them with paints and they did well, did not buckle or warp.  Pkg 50.
$1.79

Like the 1" shape chipboard?- you can find Inkadinkadoo Inchie stamp sets to fit them on this page link

Chipboard Circles, 1" Diameter~ Add your favorite paper, photos, magazine print, dictionary print, etc. to these chipbard circles.  They may even fit in some of your round pendants (haven't thried that yet) and can add depth and height to your projects or showcase a certain feature.  Put your favorite Articus Studio brass charm on it too.  Pack of 50 1" circles.
$1.79

1208-952squse.jpg

Chipboard Squares, 2"x2" Size~Same wonderful chipboard that has so many wonderful uses.  Even just to elevate an item on your project when  glue dot won't give you the height you need.  Pkg of 40 squares.
$1.79

7 Gypsies Book Covers~There are 3 styles to choose from, each measuring approx. 5 1/2" wide x 7" high.  They are sturdy book board.  The color varies slightly from the picture- typically darker.
If you don't want a 5.5x7" book, cut them in half from top to bottom and you can make 2 smaller books.  Be really daring and cut them in fourths and have 4 mini books.  Sold per set of 2 (front & back)
$2.00

7 Gypsies Book Covers, "Gypsy" Style- shown in paragraph above.  Looks like an old leather cover and has dark red/burgundy embellishing on corners and side.  The front and back cover are mirror images of each other.
$2.00

17555use.jpg

7 Gypsies Book Cover-Victoria Style~This picture shows the boards lighter than they are.  They are a darker, tea stained look.  The back cover is similar to the front but does not have the inside brackets and flourishes-just the border.  It measures 5.5"x7" in size and comes with 2 boards- front & back.  Great if you don't want to embellish the covers -just add your pages and some rings for binding and you are ready to go- quick gift or quick book for yourself.
$2.00

19520use.jpg

7 Gypsies Book Covers-Vintage Style~This picture does not represent the true color, it is a dark maroon color.  It measures 5.5"x7" in size and the front and back cover are mirror images of each other.  Add a unique embellishment to the center you created with an Articus Studio brass charm or other cool embellishment or collage.  Comes with 2 boards in a package.
$2.00

chipuse.jpg

Chipboard 1" square~I got the idea for this one evening while watching QVC jewelry- they showed a piece I liked and thought I could replicate it somewhat with the chipboard and a charm.  I painted the chipboard black.  I wanted a little bit of design in the background so I embossed a stamp with gears on it in black embossing powder, added the brass charm and 3 small Swarovski flat back crystals in the center and a scew post at the top.  If I was going to wear this as a necklace, I would further shore up the screw post with some glue or glaze.
You can do a lot with the chipboard pieces to create unique one-of-a-kind embellishments for your cards, books, scrapbooks, etc.

chipblineuse.jpg

Although this is not a chipboard square (black mat board) it does represent the cute little somethin'-somethin' you can make with the squares.  This was a little clippy handed out by B-Line Rubber Stamps at CHA 2008.  I loved it- I like black and white alot!  When I first started stamping, I bough all the cutesy stamps- teddy bears, flowers, etc and then I found myself being drawn to more graphic artsy kind of stamps.  I was intriqued by that process to see how my true taste and style evolved.

bok1use.jpg

This was a pre-bought spiral bound book and I decorated it using the Tim Holtz Distress Crackle Paint-black soot as the background and I put 3 little chipboard squares together and stamped a word on them (Vision from Stampers Anonymous) and then separated them and mounted them on back door screen.  I also painted 3 other squares and used them vertically stamping single words on them.  It also had a Tim Holtz Trinket Pin above the little angel stamp and a "One Way" traffic road sign sticker.  The lion stamp was done at a class I took somewhere.  I liked the stamp and I had some paper towels that had ink all over it so I stamped it on the paper towel and it ended up on this project.

tcbookuse.jpg

Using a bracket shaped bookboard,  I used Graphics 45 paper on the cover and pages of the book.  I made the pages square though, they do not mimic the shape of the brackets (just too fussy for me to do that).  All you need to do is just make them the size of the board at its narrowest.  I did use a corner rounder to round the pages though to mimic the rounded tops and bottoms of the chipboard.
Although I no longer carry this shape, I thought you  still might like to see a sample you can adapt to any shape.

Another view of the Ikea mirror embellished with chipboard shapes covered with Graphics 45 paper.

embuse.jpg

This piece uses 35 1x1" chipboard "inchie" squares.  For the silver ones, I coated with embossing ink and then embossed with several coats of platinum embossing powder and stamped an image in it.  The other tiles have a combination of brass charms, & Tim Holtz washer token embellishments.  It is adhered to a 5"x7" canvas using Claudine Hellmuth Matte Medium as the adhesive.

My friend, Angela, has an AccuCut system and often cuts out books for us using chipboard.  Although this is not something I sell, I do want you to see an idea for using chipboard and your favorite paper and stamps.  I strongly endorse Zutter Bind-It-All and if you can't find one, I can special order for you.  I had been looking around quite awhile for a book binding system and just did not like anything on the market at that time.  When I saw this machine demoed & debuted at CHA several years ago, I didn't even have to think about it.  I bought one right away.  It was just the most perfect binding machine I had seen and still have seen.  It's easy to use and just makes a very useful book.
