Brass Frames are a wonderful way to use your smaller bits and scraps of paper- doesn't take much to make
a truly elegant, whimsical or classic embellishment. One that is unique to you.
This is the cover paper to a pad of the Renaissance Faire Graphics 45 Paper.
Brass Horizontal Rectangle Frame-Small~This is a small frame- it measures approx. 5/8" wide and approx.
5/16" high -not including the ring- to give you a better feel for the size- it is about as wide as a dime. I think this
would be great to write a word inside the brass rectangle with a Sharpie; cut a word out of a magazine, create it on your
computer, etc. Use it to put a name in next to a picture- many possibilities. You can snip the ring off
at the top if you want that look too. Pkg of 4 charms.
$0.49
I used the ornate round frame below, printed off the word "Dream" on regular computer paper and covered
the paper with a sheet of mica and adhered to the back of the ornate round charm. You could also get the same or similar
look by covering the inside of the charm with Ranger Sepia Accents for an aged look. You could also color the brass
charm with alcohol inks or Copic Markers to complimet any project. You can also drill a hole in the ornate round frame,
add a jump ring for a cool addition to a necklace.
When I was scanning a recent edition of the Belle Armoire Jewelry magazine, I forgot to remove my previous
item that I scanned, which was the ornate round frame. When I went to work on the scan, I saw this charm on the front
and thought it looked pretty and could be an extra creative inspiration for someone- so here are the combined scans.
Brass Fancy Round Floral Frame with Center Out~This frame can adorn a face, word, pretty paper or anything
else you have on your project. The frame measures approx. 1 1/8" in diameter and the open center measures approx.
3/4". It has raised flowers, stem and leaves to make one beautiful charm. Pkg of 4 charms.
$2.59
Beautiful Ornate Rectangle Frame with Floral Border~Gorgeous! This frame measures approx. 2 11/16"
high including the ring and approx. 3/4" wide. Use as a name tag- spell your name out vertically, add a jump ring, add
to your chain and you have a unique, one of a kind name tag. Add your favorite art, pictures, collage, etc. for a stunning
enhancement to any project. Pkg of 4 charms. (See sample below-from this to that....)
$2.39
I call this my faux Vintage Charm. Vintage is a brand of coppert patinaed brass charms on the market
(2010). I think they are very pretty and accidentlally came across this combination of alcohol inks to create that same
look with them. I added some Graphics 45 paper to the inside, added Judkins Dimensional Glaze and then colored the metal
with a red copic marker and then a brown one. Copic markers have alcohol ink in them so I think the same look can be
achieved with most alcohol inks on the market. We carry Tim Holtz brand alcohol inks and in that I would try the currant
and latte colors.
In doing this, you create your own one of a kind- absolutely unique embellishment to add to your project.
Large Square Brass Frame with Rope Trim~This is a large frame, it measures approx. 1 7/16" wide and
approx. 1 7/16" high including the ring at top. It has a decorative rope like trim around the perimeter of the frame.
The recessed area is approx. 1 1/4" wide and approx. 1 1/8" high. Add a jump ring to the frame and you can use in a
necklace. Add your favorite collage, pretty paper, monograms, quotes, etc. and add to your creation of the day.
Pkg of 4 frames.

| Corrine's Mini Book with Square Frame |
Did you know you could make a cute little mini book using the square frame above? Neither did I.
I was making some other kinds of books-multiple signatures- and actually was looking through a jewelry magazine and saw a
pic of something that gave me the idea for this- you just never know where your inspiration will come from. I put some
Grpahics 45 paper in the frame that had a gear design, added some of our cool brass gears and set them in with Ranger Matte
Accents. It has some beads on the side and ties in the front. I left the little frame rings on- for now- I may
add something to them too. Or I may just snip them off- time will tell. You could actually use them to incorporate
this into a necklace.
Brass charms are amazingly versatile embellishments!
These adorable brass charm gears can be found on this page.
The brass charm shown at the top of this page was used in this project but cutting off the top ring and
turning it on its side to look like a triange. Brass Charms are probably the most versatile and unique embellishments...in
my opinion. Turning it on its side just gave it a whole different look.
Ornate Cornered Square Brass Frame~This frame reminds me of a beautiful serving platter...it's
all in the mind's eye! This one measures approx. 1 1/4" high and approx. 7/8" wide. The top of the frame has an
ornate swirl (could also be a small turned leaf) on each side of the center hole. It has decorative border notches at
each corner. The center is recessed to hold a favorite picture, monogram, pretty paper, altered collage, tiny beads,
etc. You can also add a pop of color to the brass charms with alcohol ink or Staz-on Ink Pads. Add to altered
art projects, funky necklaces and bracelets, scrapbooks, cards, as ornaments, etc. Pkg of 4 frames
$1.39
Brass Postage Frame Connector~This versatile charm can be used to add ooommph to any project.
Adhere with your favorite Articus Studio glues or glazes or dangle from ribbon, thread, twill, leather, chain, etc.
You can add additional charms or beads to the bottom connector or you can use in a necklace or bracelet creation. This
charm measures approx. almost 1 1/4" from the end of each connector. The postage stamp measures approx. 15/16" wide
and approx. 3/4" wide. The center area is recessed so you can add picture, pretty paper, collage, monograms, writing,
etc. and cover with your favorite glaze medium. Pkg of 4 charms.
$0.99
Small Triangle Brass Frame~This frame measures approx.-as you look on it as it is, 1 1/8" across
and almost 1 1/4" from top to bottom including the ring. The recessed area measures approx. 5/8" square. Add your
pictures, collage, pressed flowers, small no hole beads, paint, etc.-the only limit is by your imagination. Great way
to add that special something to your cards, books, altered art, ornaments, scrapbooks, etc. Pkg of 4 frames.
$1.29
Using the triangle frame above, I cut Turquoise, avocado and black Friendly Plastic to fit in the frame.
I put it on a griddle and put it over the burner on the stove and melted it.
You can use your brass charms in many innovative ways to create your own unique embellishment for any project.
Brass Charm, Fancy Frame~ I love this shape and look and for lack of something better to call it I called
it a frame. It would be great as one and the inside of the frame measures approx. 7/16" high and approx. 3/8" wide.
Overall from top of prongs to bottom it measures approx. 15/16" high and 7/8" wide. As an option, you can also fold
the prongs up or down or over it too. I think it would be cute on a doll face, like our muslin dolls, and have the features
of the face inside the frame. I think it has a southwest look to it also and could be used as a sun. Let
me know what you think it can be used for. Pkg 6
$0.99
Ornate Circle Frame~This frame measures approx. 1 1/6" across in diameter. It has beautiful open
design along the perimeter of the frame. The center of the frame is set in allowing for placement of a picture, paper,
collage, etc. The center recessed area is not real deep, just deep enough allowing for thickness of standard photo and
some glaze, if desired. Pkg. of 4 charms.
$1.39
Steel Ornate Frame~This frame is made of steel and comes in the silver color. You will have to
seal this frame though- which is easily done with clear nail polish. If you don't seal it, eventually it will rust-
and that also may be a look you are going for too. Pkg. 4 frames. (See the sample at the bottom of this page for
some inspiration).
$1.59
These are the steel gold colored frames that are shown below. I have altered the color by using embossing powder. Use
your heat gun to heat the metal, then sprinkle some embossing powder on it- no need to use embossing ink, it adheres
to the hot metal. If you sprinkle the embossing powder on lightly, you can still see the design texture of the frame.
If you sprinkle it on heavy, then you can get a smooth look to it, completely covering the design.
Ornate Brass Frame~This frame measures Approx 2" wide and approx 1" high. You can
change the look by embossing it, using alcohol inks and Staz On Ink pads. Has a lot of great detail on it and will aadd
class to dominos, scrapbooks, cards, books, boxes, etc. Pkg. 4
$1.69
Ornate Circle Frame with Flower Bud/Scroll Design~This is a beautiful frame, It measures approx.
1 11/16" in diameter, this is measured from flower bud tip to flower bud tip. That is what the protruding parts resemble
to me- flower buds. The diameter of the center recessed area is approx 1 1/16" in dimater. It also has swirls
coming from the flower buds. The center circle also has beading around it. This frame does not have a ring so
you will adhere with glue or you can always drill a hole, possible 2 and hang with some thin cording. You can add your
picture, collage, photo, etc. to the center recessed portion and add a little glaze for a wonderul, unique embellishment that
is yours alone. Sold per package of 2 charms.
$1.29
Another idea for some of the charm frames is a classy name tag. You could add a round pin bail to
the back or a pin back with bail which will allow you to wear your name tag as a pin or add it to a necklace when you don't
want to pierce delicate fabrics.
So Charming!
I will be adding some glaze to the top of this piece to protect the paper, just couldn't wait for all that
to dry before I added it to the website.
Red Brass Rectangle Frame with Rope Trim~This looks like copper but is actually red brass. It
has the look of the popular jewelry brand out now-Vintage. It measures approx. 1 1/16" high including the ring and approx.
11/16" wide. It does not have an even tone all over so it adds a lot of vintage like character to it. The inside
portion of the rectangle is recessed so you can add a picture and add a little glaze over top. The recessed area measures
approx. 9/16" wide and approx. 3/4" high. You can feel the design in the rope detail around the frame. Pkg of
4 frames.
$0.89
Also Available in Brass Finish- Pkg of 4
$0.89
I wish you could see this sample in person- the scan just doesn't do it justice- it is sooo cute!
I took Graphics 45 paper and stamped "journey", "imagine" and "dream" on the paper, cut the paper to fit the back of the silver
frame (shown several products above on this page), glued the paper in place with Ranger Glossy Accents and then hooked the
frames together with large jump rings and then used smaller jump rings to attach the chain to the top. Just took minutes
to do and the effect is really nice.
You could do the same thing using the frames in a vertical position and hanging a charm or other embellisment
from the bottom. I think these would actually work as a necklace too since you can use jump rings on the sides.
Let your imagination run free!
You could leave the chain off and put this in a picture frame, maybe on some suede paper or cloth for some
added inspiration in your craft room.
These would be an elegant way to keep the name of your favorite wines while displayed on your table, use
as a classic seating name plate.
Let you imagination carry you away!
This frame has a snippet of Graphics 45 paper in it. What a wonderful way to showcase small, but beautiful,
remnants of your favoirte paper. Create a frame of frames on your wall with your favorite papers. Use your school
or team logos in the frames. Type a word out vertically and print out and enclose in the frame to create a personal
and unique embellishment for your project or home decor.
You can always snip the ring with flush metal cutters or use your Tim Holtz Scissors- they go directly from
from paper to metal-you only need one pair of scissors.
Tim Holtz Tonic Studios Scissors and other tools can be found on this page link
Fancy Brass Rectangle Frame~This brass rectangle frame has a recessed area in the center of the frame
which makes it suitable to put a picture, collage, printed words, gemstones, polymer clay, glaze and more. The frame
measures approx. 1/2" wide and approx. 2" high. The brass ring at the top is generous and will easily accomodate ribbon,
ball chain, etc. The center recessed area has a subtle cross hatch design also.
Pkg 4 Charms.
$1.69
Beveled Brass Frame~This frame measures approx. 3/4" square. The ring on top adds an additional
1/8". The sides of the frame are beveled back so that you have 3 beveled areas around the frame. The inside recessed
portion of the frame measures approx. 1/2" square. It is here you can put a photo, small collage, beads, polymer clay,
etc. You could add a little glaze over your photo or whatever you choose to inhabit the center portion of the frame.
Pkg 4 frames.
$0.99
Art Deco Style Brass Frame~This unique frame measures approx. 1 1/2" high including the ring and approx.
1 1/4" at its widest where it flares out. The center of the ring is recessed in allowing for a picture, collage, etc.
You could color one or both of the flared out parts with alcohol inks, Sharpies or any other metal paint for a different look.
Pkg. 4 frames.
$1.29
Brass Round Frame~This frame measures approx. a little more than 1 1/4" in diameter. It has a
plain ring around the perimeter and then rises into a second ring and then the recessed center. This charm has a little
deeper recessed center than some of the other charms. It also has a ring at the top. The center portion measures
approx. 1" in diameter so it will hold a nice size photo, collage, 3 dimensional objects, etc. Pkg of 4 charms.
$1.49
Brass Triangle Charm~For me, there is something very appealling about a triangle. I found that
as I progressed in my artistic taste that I gravitated towards graphic images. This brass charm measures approx. 1 9/16"
across and approx. 1 1/2" high including the ring at the top. Add your favorite photo, collage, magazine pic, stamped
image, postal stamp, etc. and finish it off with a little resin and you have a wonderful embellishment, necklace, etc.
Pkg of 4 triangle charms.
$2.29
Round Brass Frame Connector~Use this frame in your bracelet or necklace creations or just as a dangle
on a project. The connecting rings on each side allow you to dangle it from a ribbon, fancy fibers, leather or other
cording and also add beads or more charms from the other ring. Very versatile. Add your favorite picture, monogram,
name, collage, paper print, etc. to the recessed center area and fill in with your favorite dimensional glaze.
Pkg of 4 charms.
$0.99
Small Raised & Tiered Rectangle Frame~This frame is really pretty. It had graduating
tiers that rise to the smaller flat rectangle surface on the top. You can add a monogram, small word, small picture
or even let it stand alone. It measures approx 5/8" from feet to feet long ways and approx. 1/2" top to bottom in that
position. The flat raised area measures approx. 3/8" long ways and 1/4 high. I have also shown it top to bottom
long ways. The raised height is approx. 1/16" high. I am a visual person so it helps me to see how it looks
both ways. Sorry the picture is so pixalated-I can't explain why it does that other than the scanner picks up the surface
closest to it and distorts the things farther away. You can also use them by printing or cutting out a word like A-R-T
and putting each letter on the charms and then putting all 3 together side by side to spell out ART. Sold per pkg of
3.
$1.29
Ornate Floral & Scrolls Oval Frame~I call it oval because the frame part is actually oval, the outside
part is actually a bit art deco look. This charm measures approx. 1" high including the ring and approx. 3/4" at its
widest. It is raised and has a lot of detail with small flowers and scrolly design. The center oval is approx.
9/16" high and approx. 3/8" at its widest and has a nice tiny rope like design surrounding the frame. Pkg of 4 frames.
$0.99
Plain Rectangle Brass Frame~Sometimes you just want the picture or collage or photo to pop inside a
frame and that is when the plain frame really comes in handy. It looks square on the photo but is rectangle and measures
approx. 1 5/16" high including the ring and approx. 1" wide. The recessed area of the frame measures almost 13/16" wide
and 15/16" high. Pkg of 4 frames.
$1.39
Small Brass Open Frame, Reddish Brass Color~I don't know why some brass pieces come in this color, I
don't specifically ask for it, but I do love the look. If you are familiar with the Vintag charms on the market, this
is similar in color to them- a reddish coppery kind of look. It measures approx. 3/8" wide and high. The
center opening measures approx. 1/4" wide & high. It is a raised frame and has decorative etching all along the
perimeter of it. Try a little picture in it, alphabet letter, numbers, rubbings on a transparency, pretty paper, ribbon,
etc. Pkg of 4 frames.
$0.89
Brass Round Frame with Rope Trim~I do like the rope trim on the frames. It just adds a special
something to it. This charm measures approx. 1 3/8" in diameter. The center is recessed and measures approx. 1
1/16" across. Perfect for a small photo, great paper- like the new Steampunk Debutante from GRaphic 45, brass gear pieces,
clock parts, etc. Just so many creative ways to make it your own unique embellishment. Pkg 4 charms.
$1.39
Clear Glass Domes~These seem to fit these round frames perfectly. These are clear glass domes
that are 35mm in diameter or approx. 1 1/8" in diameter. They are almost 1/4" high on the dome- so they add a nice presence
to a pendant or project. Sold per piece.
$0.40
Tip-when using resins on the frames (I used 3D Crystal Lacquer to glue the dome onto the frome)
please seal the frames first or they may turn a little dark. You can see how it turned a little dark on the sample.
Just use some clear nail polish.
I used a piece of Graphics 45 paper on the inside.
This triangle frame has a snippet of Graphics 45 paper in it. Use it with the ring or snip the ring
off using flush metal cutters or your Tim Holtz scissors- they go from paper to metal -just great.
Create a unique embellishment for your project using brass charms.
Greta does not want to be alone!
This is a sample of the round frame. The picture is a cancelled Greta Garbo stamp I have hoarded for
a couple years waiting for the right project. All I added was some color to Greta's lips. I adhered Greta to the
frame using Ranger Glossy Accents, let it dry and then I added Ranger Glossy Accents over the picture. When I checked
it- there was a slight blue tint around the perimeter so I think the cancellation ink on the stamp must have bled a bit- but
I like the look. This frame also looks great with wings on the side.
Kind of a funny thing...shortly after Michael Jackson's death, I was wearing this necklace and someone asked
me if it was a picture of Michael Jackson...not that I didn't like him....but it was not the look I was going for. I
am not in the teeny bopper age group.
Well starting out I was just making a little sample for the round brass frame, it morphed into this
final piece. I think each piece does well on its own, but I am pretty happy with the final look. The back piece
is one of the metal embellishments from Tim Holtz. I added a copper jump ring at the bottom with a little gold connector
and the copper moon face from Articus Studio. Because of the difference in height, the scan blurs the back piece a
bit.
I don't have the Tim Holtz metal embellishments online at this time, but it you like them, just let me know
and I can order them in for you.
