Corrines Gourd with 7 Gypsies Rubons

This gourd was cleaned and colored using Tim Holtz Distress Inks, then I applied 7 Gypsies Rubons to the gourd and sealed with Claudine Hellmuth matte medium.

These are the new rubbings for Summer 2010.  They are wonderfully done in the steampunk style that is currently so popular.  I love the steampunk style and even though I have loved all the rubbings 7 Gypsies have done in the past, I particularly love these.
Rubbings are a great way to personalize a project and make it your own.  Use on transparencies, glass, paper, metal,  books, candles, etc.
To Use, just cut out the rubbing style you want and use the handy-dandy applicator tool (popsicle stick) and just rub it over and it will transfer to your surface of choice.

7 Gypsies Rubbings-Numbers Steampunk~This is a different collection of numbers from what is typically on the market.  There are old phone numbers- I remember mine from when I was a little girl- Tuxedo 882-6520.  There are ruler numbers, typewriter numbers, service numbers, chemical numbers, speed limit and more.  Very cool selection.  You can also use just a portion of it -for instance, use the ruler in several projects instead of all in one chunk.

7 Gypsies Rubbings-Natural History Steampunk~This fun collection reminds me of the old encyclopedias we had.  I would love to look at the color plates of birds and other animals and flowers inside them.  This collection has flowers, birds, frogs, birds nest, moth and other bugs.  There were some plates in the encyclopedias I didn't even want to touch like the spider ones...iccckkkk.  But this collection looks pretty safe- the ant detail is a little creepy but it still would be cool on the right project.  Maybe a baby doll head or an ice cream cone.

7 Gypsies Rubbings-Nomenclature Steampunk~I like this collection of product names from soap to ink to gramophone.  Just a wonderul eclectic mix and I really enjoy the ink blots.  There is a Helpmate sewing machine, storage & transfer line (great for a trunk), wool, cologne, confectionery, cafe and more.
I think they really have a winning collection with all the new rubons.

7 Gypsies Rubbings-Time Steampunk~This would certainly come in as one of my favorites of the collection.  I love gears and clocks so this really speaks to me.  It also has clock hands, some chain, words, small clocks.  You can combine some of these- put a small clock in a circle or cut a clock in half and only use part of it.  Rubbings are a great way to create your own unique embellishment.

These are the new color rubbings by 7 Gypsies- new for summer 2011.

7 Gypsies Color Rubbings-Tickets~This is a beautiful color set of ticket rubbings complete with your rubbing tool you can use over and over-ha ha- popsicle stick- low tech.  It is efficient though.  This has 17 different tickets of various sizes and colors.  For a frame of reference, the top right tickert measures 1 1/2" wide and approx 2" high.  There is a ticket for transit commissions, win a car tick, carriage check, some foreign ones and one that looks like an invoice.  Very pretty.  I personally love the rubbings 7 Gypsies does.  They always look nice when you use them.  I recently used some of the black and white ones on a gourd I colored.  I sealed them with matte medium and hopefully soon I will have a pic up of that.

7 Gypsies Color Rubbins-Apothecary~This apothecary line has been very popular and now they are carrying it over into the rubbings.  This sheet contains 18 different labels.  Some include lime water, astringent tincture, lavender water, ammonia, arsenic, salve, chloroform liniment and more.  The color is very nice- looks like the real deal.  As a frame of reference- the label on the top right measures approx. 1 3/8" wide and 1" high.

Corrines Gourd & Rubons

I love gourd art.  They have a Gourd Fetival here in Ohio that I attended one year and was just blown away at all you could do with a gourd.  They are like wood to try and cut one- so I opted for the easy way out and just cleaned the outside of it and used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to color it and then applied 7 Gypsies Rubons and sealed with Claudine Helmuth Matte Medium.
I was fortunate to come upon a yard sale recently that had the gourds for a very reasonable price- $0.25- now you are talking my language!

ATTN:  MAC Users & Ipod Phone Users~
For some reason Mac/Ipods & Paypal do not work well together.  For some Mac & Ipod users, the Paypal cart will dump after several things are added to the cart.  I might suggest you write the item numbers down that come up when you "add to cart".  If it does dump, you can call -740-477-1238 or email your order c_byers1@msn.com.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  I have notified Paypal of this problem, but so far it has not been fixed.

~ATTENTION-Just a Little Slower NOTICE~
I had surgery on  my left wrist & arm February 13th.
I will be like a one arm bandit for 6 weeks with a brace on left arm to keep it immobile- so the going will be a little slow during that time.

Thanks so much for your patience during this time.

PLEASE make sure your Paypal ADDRESS is CORRECT before placing your order.  Thanks!  It also helps to have a correct email address if I need to contact you re your order.  Thanks.
